Cookie Policy
This policy explains what cookies and similar storage the Coxhoe Dental Practice website uses, what they do, and how you can control them. It covers this website only; it does not cover the practice's own patient records, which are described in our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. Websites can also keep information in your browser's local storage, which works in a similar way. Together these let a site remember things between pages and visits, such as a choice you have made.
How this website uses storage
This website is built to work without any third-party cookies until you choose to allow them. When you first visit, a consent window asks what you would like to allow. Your answer is kept in your browser so that we do not ask again on every page.
Nothing optional is loaded, and no request is made to another company's servers, until you have made a choice.
Essential storage
These are needed for the website to work and cannot be switched off:
- cd_consent (browser local storage) — remembers your consent choice, including which categories you have allowed and when you made the choice. It is kept for up to 180 days and is refreshed if our consent window changes.
- Form protection — when you send an enquiry or referral, the form carries a one-time security token and a signed timestamp to protect against automated misuse. These are part of the form submission itself and are not stored as cookies.
- WordPress login cookies — only set for members of the practice team who sign in to edit the website. Visitors never receive them.
External content
With your permission we load content from the following services. Each may set its own cookies or similar identifiers, under its own privacy policy, once it is loaded:
- Google Maps — the interactive map of the practice on the home page, contact page and in the footer. See Google's privacy policy.
- Vimeo — videos embedded on treatment pages. See Vimeo's privacy policy.
- Google reviews widget — where a reviews widget is connected, it is loaded from the widget provider's servers and displays reviews from our Google Business Profile.
Until you allow external content, each of these is shown as a simple placeholder with a button to allow it.
Analytics
This website does not currently run any analytics or advertising scripts. If that changes, the consent window will be updated to ask for your permission first, and this policy will describe what is used.
Changing your choice
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page, or the button below. Withdrawing consent clears the storage listed above and reloads the page so that no external content remains loaded.
You can also delete cookies and local storage through your browser's settings. Doing so will cause the consent window to appear again on your next visit.
